Bestifor Farms

The Bestifor Water Technology Farm is owned by Bestifor Farms and is located near Norway, Kansas. Chase and Thayne Larson, of Bestifor Farms, approached the Kansas Water Office and wished to demonstrate new ways of tracking water use and and help ensure most efficient use throughout the year, instead of applying when it wasn't needed. Bestifor Farms hopes to make better water management decisions as well as extend the resource in their area.

Technology

For the 2020 growing season, the farm will encompass a newly created water tracking software that Chase Larson developed to consistently track the water use from the irrigation wells. The concept is to ensure no unnecessary water is being pumped throughout the year. Along with that, soil moisture probes will also be installed for better irrigation management.
