Kansas Water Talk Series in Sharon Springs
February 2, 10 a.m., MT at Wallace County Fairgrounds
As a way of expanding education on water issues in the state there will be a Water Talk Series in six cities this winter.
The third of the series will be Thursday, February 2 at 10 a.m. MT (11 a.m. CST) at the Wallace County Fairgrounds, 450 Ramon Street in Sharon Springs, Kansas. Producers and stakeholders will hear information important to the coming year that will affect their operations in regards to future water supplies and tools to support reduced water use, such as Limited Irrigation Crop Insurance.
Topics include:
2017 Limited Irrigation Crop Insurance coverage offered by USDA – Risk Management Agency (RMA)
Wichita County Water Conservation Area Plan
Irrigation and Water Technology Farm updates
Regional groundwater levels
Water conservation economic study results

The agency prepares the KANSAS WATER PLAN, a plan for water resources development, management and conservation. KWO also reviews all water laws and makes recommendations to the Governor and Legislature for needed legislation.
