The Water Legacy Award recipient is selected based on significant contributions and lasting impacts on the future of water in the state. Past recipients of the award include Wayne Bossert, Joe Harkins, Pat Sauble, David Pope, and most recently, Mike Hayden.
“Success Stories” recipients, which can be individuals, municipalities, companies or organizations, are selected as an entity or individual taking extraordinary measures to conserve, reuse or adopt better practices to help ensure the future of our state’s water resources.
Both the Water Legacy Award and the "Success Stories" are awarded based on submissions from State of Kansas citizens. We welcome any and all submissions through the appropriate forms below.

The previous "Be the Vision" awards have been modernized and are now known as: "Success Stories". These "Success Stories" will still feature individuals, municipalities, companies or organizations whom are taking extraordinary measures to conserve, reuse or adopt better practices to help ensure the future of our state’s water resources.
"Success Stories" will help us align with the updated Kansas Water Plan, which has incorporated the Vision for the Future of Water in Kansas (the Vision). The hard work put into the "Be the Vision" awards will not be forgotten, and will live on through future "Success Stories".
