Governor’s Water Conference Deadline Fast Approaching
The Complete Conference Agenda Has Been Posted on the Kansas Water Office Website

The Governor’s Water Conference will be Wednesday, November 8 and Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn & Conference Center in Manhattan, Kansas. The registration deadline is next week Wednesday, November 1.

This is the sixth year for the conference and building off last year’s success, there will be a kick-off reception Tuesday night and this year will feature breakout sessions on Day 1. There will be four panels in the afternoon highlighting different water topics: Water and Emergency Response; Public Water Supply and Agriculture – Solving non-point source pollution problems together; Water Management Solutions – Drought to Surplus; The Farm Bill’s Role in Water and Natural Resource Management and Sustainability.

Conference Keynote speakers include:

  • Jim Gulliford, EPA Region 7 Administrator
  • Michael J. Teague, Oklahoma Energy & Environment, Secretary
  • Robin Jennison, Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks and Tourism, Secretary

The third Water Legacy Award is to be presented at the conference Wednesday morning and ‘Be the Vision’ nominees will be recognized as well.

The Governor’s Conference on the Future of Water in Kansas is hosted by the Kansas Water Office, K-State /Kansas Water Resource Institute and the Kansas Geological Survey/KU.  Major sponsors for the event include Black & Veatch, Burns & McDonnell and Great Lakes Dredge & Dock.
